LORD LOUD is a heavy-hitting, riff monster comprised of Michael Feld (drums) and Chris Allison (guitar/vocals). The two met at a house party Feld was hosting in late 2014. With no time wasted, early 2015 saw the release of their first heavy psych EP, IN, that was released on cassette through King Volume Records. The label burned through the cassettes and some songs landed on TV shows. Their 2017 debut LP, Passé Paranoia, had a modest vinyl pressing and sold out within a month of release. Now their anticipated follow-up, Timid Beast, is going to be released on Sept. 4th.
Born in a sweltering garage in Van Nuys, Feld and Allison have taken a DIY approach to the whole venture. They record themselves, do all their own album artwork, Allison created the label King Volume Records with friend Todd White with the initial intention of putting out Lord Loud releases (which has since expanded) and have mixed their newest album. That isn't to say they haven't had help along the way, with their first EP being mixed by Geoff Halliday (Hands) and debut LP mixed by Chris King (Moon Palace Productions, Cold Showers).
The two have extensively worked in entertainment (collectively their credits list include SpongeBob, American Dad, Looney Tunes, etc., as well as a list of independent produced live-action and animated films) all the while stealing time away to compose songs between gigs. For those hoping for more delay-soaked solos and Animal-esque drum fills, there's no end in sight.
