Rapper Lucas Coly, aka Kid Lucas, has achieved fame through social media platforms and independent releases that have combined original tracks such as "I Just Wanna" with freestyles.
Born in France, Coly moved with his family to the U.S. while he was a youngster, and after some time in Texas, relocated to Detroit, Michigan. During the early 2010s, while he was in his mid-teens, Coly started to build an online following with uploads of recordings to platforms including Vine, YouTube, Instagram, and Soundcloud. Significant progress was made during the latter half of the decade with original, independently released material, most notably the characteristically cool and relaxed 2016 single "I Just Wanna," which quickly reached over one million views or streams on multiple platforms.
