Based in — or rather, drifting between — London and Hong Kong, Lucid Fuzzy is trapped in a state of flux. Like a poet in exile, she spins sleepless melancholic nights into homesick tunes in her bedroom. Floating across time and space, her sounds are a blend of delicate forlorn vocals mixed with guitar-laden, hazy dream pop, her visuality interweaves nostalgic Hong Kong cinema and modern-day urban flâneur scenery.
Upon first listening, one can easily call to mind indie bedroom pop favourites with the likes of Raveena, Dream, Ivory, CASTLEBEAT, beabadoobee, and Taiwan’s Hello Nico — that is, tinted with a fuzzy shoegaze quality, some English-mixed-Cantonese, Italian lyrics, and a diasporic traction.
