Channeling elements from jazz, hip-hop and R&B, Lucid State are a South London based duo that have crafted their own unique patchwork take on these genres. Upon meeting at university in 2016, the duo comprised of Ben Northam (vocals, keys, saxophone and production) and Shayan Fassih (guitar, bass and production) found common ground in a shared experience of suburban boredom, which drives their introspective writing and distinctive production style.
Announcing themselves with debut project <a href="spotify:album:5BX9UQuojzd7BiCS1gJELS" data-name="Talk to Me">Talk to Me</a> in 2020, the duo followed up with their sophomore EP <a href="spotify:album:18lvRltbBI4Wfynh0zzis3" data-name="Wet Paint">Wet Paint</a> in late 2021 which further widened their musical palette. With their most ambitious project yet set to be released in early 2026, the duo have begun to build a burgeoning reputation with their full band live shows, making their live debut at the world-famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
