Born in New York, Lucid is a songwriter, hip-hop artist & producer who is getting ready to take the hip-hop industry into a whole new realm. Since the age of 13, Lucid Has been working on mastering his craft and brand image. Out of high school, he went on to graduate from IAR in Manhattan with a degree in audio engineering. As he continuously built his brand, he gained his biggest inspiration from artists such as Biggie Smalls, Big L, J. Cole, 50 Cent & Eminem.
At age 23, after changing his brand from J. Matters to Lucid, he dropped his first official mixtape, “Insomnia” under the new alias. After dropping his mixtape with follow up singles, Lucid began opening shows for globally recognized artists, amongst them being Fabolous, French Montana, DMX and the hip-hop group known as The Lox. Lucid then began to broaden his range by venturing into other genres, at which time he started to work on a whole new concept and sound with JoeytheGAWD. Since then, Lucid has recorded and released singles such as “Re Re” which has garnished over 2.5 million views collectively.
