Luis Cortez is a Filipino singer-songwriter and musician, and currently performs with OPM artist Moira Dela Torre as acoustic guitarist and back-up vocalist, as well as for TJ Monterde and various other artists.
His journey as a professional musician took off in 2014, when he was selected among thousands of applicants to be part of the prestigious Elements Music Camp - an intensive camp for a chosen group of new singer-songwriters to be mentored by OPM greats such as Ryan Cayabyab, Ogie Alcasid, Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel, Chito Miranda, and others.
Since then, Luis pursued music full-time — writing several original OPM and Christian songs, interpreting songs for PAPURI!, going on solo gigs and touring with Moira dela Torre, as well as collaborating with other artists including co-writing for Keiko Necesario's song "Dito Ka Lang”, which has earned over a million streams on Spotify to date.
Evident in his music is Luis’ belief that songwriting can be used as a powerful tool to inspire. More keen on working on his own music now more than ever, Luis hopes to encourage the younger generation to write songs that will spark hope and make a difference in the world, as they navigate through the highs and lows of life.
