Upbeat melodies and soul-searching lyrics blend together to give you Luzelle: vocalist, guitarist and songwriter who loves to surprise audiences with the great command she has over her voice and guitar. Although her music can be broadly defined as folk-rock, she isn’t afraid to fuse genres or break the rules, with influences including Karen Zoid and Freshlyground and no two songs sounding the same.
Growing up in Mossel Bay speaking Afrikaans and English, she started off her career writing and performing in English as “Ruby June” but has since started a new chapter, embracing both languages and performing under her own name. After releasing an EP (“Reflect”) in 2017 and live album (“As Is”) in 2019, Luzelle is excited to be releasing new music and looks forward to sharing her stories and talent with South Africa.
