Lydia Luce makes music that connects her innermost feelings to the great outdoors, writing songs that bear witness to her hopes and dreams and fears. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, she lived in Boston and Los Angeles before settling in Nashville. On her latest album, Mammoth, she charts her long recovery from chronic pain, celebrates the hard-won intimacies in her life and ponders the serendipity that lies at the heart of all things.
A violin and viola player, she has played for the likes of Eminem, Sigur Ros, Dolly Parton and Annie Lennox (though not, sadly, at the same time) and is one of the co-founders of the Nashville-based string collective Lockeland Strings. She also releases ambient music compositions under the artist name Lethe.
