Mace Lee

Mace Lee (aka Mason Lee Lynaugh) is an Austin native, born and raised a few blocks away from the Texas Capitol. He witnessed the metamorphosis of a college town to a global tech metropolis from his front yard. Inspired by his grandfather who won an Emmy for audio engineering as a Chinese immigrant and surrounded by an environment referred to as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” Mace Lee was performing sentimental punk music with his band at historic Austin venues by the time he was in middle school. While studying at The University of Texas at Austin, Mace Lee released his first solo music and established a name for himself, opening for acts such as Travis Porter, Ugly God, and Zaytoven at SXSW and Texas Roundup. In the following year, he released his debut album and organized a series of events that united the college and hip-hop communities.

‘How It Felt’ is Mace Lee’s defining album. It blends pop, hip-hop, and alternative elements to create music that “sounds like the city of Austin in its purest form,” says Steelo Foreign, one of Austin’s premier hip-hop producers.
