Born and raised in the rolling highlands and valleys of northern New Jersey, Madison Taylor draws inspiration from the natural world around her. Her connection to the outdoors, paired with romantic, introspective songwriting, brought to life her debut EP called Evergreen. While studying at Liberty University’s School of Music, she recorded six original songs at Pipe Dream Studios and released them in 2020.
William Wordsworth once said that poetry should begin as "the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings" which the poet then "recollects in tranquility." Madison Taylor has the same outlook toward her musical poetry. Her songs explore the space between memory and imagination, and are influenced by the haunting beauty of Celtic melodies, the raw honesty of old country, and the Romantic era’s emphasis on emotion and nature.
Lady of Arbor Hill is Madison's first full-length album, released on September 22, 2024. The title is a tribute to her childhood home where every track was written, and the name loosely references Tennyson’s The Lady of Shalott. Just like the Lady of Shalott, the Lady of Arbor Hill also has a story to share through her tapestry of music.
Madison continues to write from a place of deep feeling and imagination. Her genres span from folk pop to soft rock, and her influences include musicians like Enya, Aurora, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Eurielle. While Lady of Arbor Hill marks a powerful beginning, Madison is already crafting what comes next.
