Hi, my name is Mallika Vie (pronounced like the letter V) and I'm a Soul and R&B singer and producer from Boston. I am inspired by Snoh Aalegra, Cleo Sol, SiR, and anyone who sounds funky and chill. Something cool about me is that I produce all my own music - so like all the vocal recording, sound design, sound selection, editing, etc., which is really cool because music production is a super male dominated industry.
In 2021, I released “let it go”, which opened a lot of doors for me because I think it resonated with so many people re feeling all this insane pressure to succeed, seeing everyone doing cool things / blowing up / getting recognition, and feeling really down and behind in comparison. Tbh I still struggle with this a lot, but I guess that's why I made the song. To memorialize and re-visit what it feels like to let all of that pressure go, even if for only 2 minutes.
