Since his 2007 debut, Welcome to the Danger Show, Marc M Cogman has built a deep catalog of critically acclaimed albums ranging from indie-rock to Americana. Born in Washington DC and raised along the northeast coast, he fronted rock bands in Boston and Los Angeles before beginning his solo career. Sometimes alone, sometimes backed by his long-time band, The Dead Messengers, his music has been heard in motion pictures and on stages across America and the world.
Over the years, Cogman has collaborated with a bevy of world-class musicians and producers in some of America’s greatest studios to release 9 full-length albums. A throwback to when the LP was king, Cogman crafts each group of songs to be a cohesive whole, with musical and lyrical themes that make each a unique statement and a snapshot of that moment in time. In the tradition of album-oriented music, each record is pressed on vinyl in addition to being released digitally.
From 2022 to 2024, Cogman undertook his most ambitious project yet. Diving deep into his family tree, he created a double LP telling stories of his parents, grandparents, and further ancestors, deeply intertwined with the history of the place they called home: Oklahoma. Utilizing archival audio, support from a wide array of musical collaborators, and his same brand of expert Americana songwriting, Cogman has crafted his finest album yet: Heritage, Legacy, and the Blood-Red Dirt.
