María José Belenguer is a Spanish composer and arranger. She began to study transverse flute at the age of 8 and later, in adolescence, she started on the piano. Then she found a way to express herself beyond words, through the connection she felt with the piano, which led her to create small melodies that became into her first compositions. She decided to form herself as a composer, obtaining a degree in composition and being awarded with scholarships for courses such as the Cátedra Falla or Injuve. Later, she also specialized in composition for audiovisual media at the CSKG in Madrid. She has received various awards throughout her career: - Second prize “Carmelo Alonso Bernaola”, at the 23rd edition of the Fundación Autor-CNDM Young Composers Awards 2012. - Nominated at the 10th edition of the Jerry Goldsmith Awards in the category of Best Song for his work "The girl who lives in me". -She has won the award for Best Original Music at the Asians on film Festival 2019 for the soundtrack of the short film "Cul-de-sac". -She has obtained the second prize in the I International Composition Contest for band "María Teresa Prieto" she combines her career as a composer and arranger with teaching. After a long process of creativeness search, she has returned to her compositional roots, reconnecting her emotions to music through the piano, drawing inspiration from her own experiences.More info: www.mariajosebelenguer.com
