Mark started his musical journey in the mid 1980's, driven by a love of soul, hip hop and funk, it wasn't long before sampling and DJ culture took over his life. The adventure reached critical mass in Manchester in the early 1990's. Various club nights were created, followed by a record shop, Fat City, which in turn led to the creation of the label Grand Central. Mark has written an autobiography called Northern Sulphuric Soulboy, which was released in 2015. This was followed in 2021 by The Caterpillar Club, Mark's first novel, a project which is backed with an instrumental soundtrack. Mark's second novel is finished and is in production. It will be released in May of 2025 along with a 10 song soundtrack album.
