Four years after their acclaimed 2021 debut Against The Wall hit the Top 20, Mason Hill are re-entering the fray with renewed intent.

While the core of the band remains the same; guitarist Marc Montgomery, bassist Matt Ward, drummer Craig McFetridge and lead guitarist James Bird; their upcoming release marks the debut of new singer Tom Ward. His versatile voice brings new dimensions to Mason Hill’s sound, switching from emotive whisper to arena-rattling power in a heartbeat.

Over their 10-year journey, Mason Hill have faced false starts, botched deals, and the six-year gap between their 2015 EP and Against The Wall. The departure of their former singer in late 2023 was just the latest hurdle.

It was Gumtree, of all places, that proved their salvation. Tom responded to an ad in spring 2024, emails were exchanged, and demos shared. The rest is history.

New music, co-produced with Dan Weller in North London, will be the first with Tom at the helm.

“All the good stuff and the bad stuff, I’m glad it happened,” says James. “Because without it we wouldn’t be here, talking about our new sound. We’re so ready. This is who we are now. This is Mason Hill.
