Frank Maston is a Los Angeles–born musician, composer, and producer based in Paris. Known for his signature avant-lounge sound, he has released five albums under his surname and produced and mixed music for numerous other artists.
Frank Maston spent his teen years experimenting with writing and recording, and in 2011 he released a series of cassette EPs as Maston and began playing live in the L.A. music scene. His debut album, Shadows (2013), was released to positive reviews, with Pitchfork calling him a “bedroom-pop genius.”
In 2017, Maston released his acclaimed second album, Tulips, incorporating new influences from vintage French and Italian soundtrack music. A commission from the library music label KPM led to Panorama (2021), followed the same year by Souvenir, which was recorded live in-studio with Swiss ensemble L’Éclair.
Aside from his solo and production work, Frank Maston has composed music for film, art exhibitions and fashion shows.
