Material Boys

Material Boys are a four piece rock n’ roll band comprised of, Ben Schulze, Alex Petric, Sebastian Urrea, and Cameron Zirbel. Growing up on their parents' records in the suburbs of San Diego, Material Boys shared common influences (The Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel). Playing together since high school, the group was formed in summer of 2015 before their senior year.
In May of 2016, Material Boys were sought out by an LA record label, Play-Yah Records, to record their debut EP, Metal Manny. Although the EP lasts no more than a mere 13 minutes, Material Boys manage to pack quite the punch.


Seeking a more hands-on creative approach to their next release, Material Boys spent summer of 2016 recording and producing their debut record, Diamond Days, entirely by themselves, in a garage located in the suburbs of their hometown, San Diego, CA.
That following year, after carving their sound and name into the North County music scene, Material Boys embarked on a West Coast tour to support their record, Diamond Days. Scaling from CA to Canada, Material Boys established a loyal fan base with their scuzzy, yet infectious garage rock energy. Sharing the stage with numerous artists over the past year including, The Aquadolls, Bowling for Soup, Burd, Cotton Ships, Valley Cult, Duuns, The Bleeskiez and Weird Fun, Material Boys energetic vibrancy is one that follows. ~ Donatello Richie, Bassmeant Records
