Matt Bell wants you to forget everything you think you know about the violin. It doesn't have 4 strings. It isn't soft and beautiful. It doesn't belong in an orchestra. It's not for making lush string pads in rock songs.
Matt's violin has 6 strings, it's angry, and when you plug it into a guitar rig, it's the centerpiece of a power trio that seeks to re-define the role of bowed strings in rock music.
From the synthy Police-inspired sounds of "It's All Good" to the Megadeth-ish "Whole Lotta Nothing", from the Eric Johnson-esque instrumental "Exile" to the straight ahead punk "Tantrum", Matt's all original solo release "One Way To Do It" covers a lot of musical ground.
The goal in 2020 is to stretch even further. Matt will release a single every month.
January: "My Fiddle Wants to Kill Your Mama"
February: "Abaga"
March: "Bach Partita 3.1"
April: "Viperized"
