Growing up strictly on gospel music, Matt’s first listen to country artists was Alan Jackson and Randy Travis’ gospel cuts. When he got out on his own he was introduced and influenced by the Turnpike Troubadours, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Billy Joe Shaver, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard.
