Matt Murillo is a singer-songwriter from Metro Manila, Philippines. He takes inspiration from 70s & 80s Pop Soul classics. He aims for his music to inspire his audience the same way the music he grew up with inspired him. When asked how to describe his music he responded:
"I want to bring back a bit of old school in today's pop music. I grew up on my mom and dad's music, and I think that's what makes me want to bring some of that magic back. Songs back then really used to touch people, and there were multiple factors that really turned the songwriting process into an art form. Today's pop music still focuses around some of the same topics, but, in my opinion, has lost a lot of the soul that music back then really brought."
He hopes to create songs that are palatable by today's diversely tone colored, modern pop standards while still being able to integrate the artistic choices that turned the songs of the past into today's classics.
