Maya Belsitzman & Matan Ephrat are a musical group.
A couple both in life and music, creating their own unique sound, based on their instruments - Cello, Drums and Voice.
Maya Belsitzman is a top class singer, cellist and composer.
She started as a classical educated cellist and shifted at the age of 18 into the Popular music scene. Since then she is majoring in World Music, Jazz, Rock and Fusion music as a session player, she writes arrangements for string quartets and orchestras and composes her own music.
Matan Ephrat is a world class drummer and percussionist, creator and a session player. Matan plays on a Hybrid Drum set - Electronic & Acoustic. Matan’s playing sounds as if he was a part of a chamber music group.
Maya & Matan played (Separately and together), recorded and collaborated with some world class Artists such as - Keren Ann, Avishai Cohen (Trumpet), Chava Alberstein, Noa (Achinoam Nini), Inbal Pinto, Yasmin Levy, Barbara Streisand and more.
The group has released 10 Albums.
As a duo, Maya & Matan performed in festivals around the world such as Paris Jazz Festival, Buenos Aires Jazz festival, Cervantino festival, RSJF Festival, Nairobi Jazz festival, Pohoda festival and many more.
