Following the breakup of industrial giants KMFDM in 1999, members Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold got together in a new project, logically called MDFMK; they added a female vocalist in the person of Lucia Cifarelli, formerly of the band Drill. MDFMK's self-titled debut was released in the spring of 2000, marking a move away from the dance-club leanings in KMFDM's later work and a return to their more aggressive, guitar-driven side, as well as adding a substantial noise-rock influence. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
