Belgian techno outfit Lords of Acid first gained notoriety in the '90s with the risqué acid house dance music of Lust, which established a dedicated cult following. Lust spawned a pair of club hits, "<a href="spotify:track:6sTxmALdJ31cPG9Dp2DxPh" data-name="Rough Sex">Rough Sex</a>" and "<a href="spotify:track:6RodaF6srpxzaCazelewk1" data-name="I Must Increase My Bust">I Must Increase My Bust</a>" and featured LoA's trademark male-female vocal interplay between <a href="spotify:artist:571MZ41OAhLQwOHzW6XfRb" data-name="Praga Khan">Praga Khan</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5QmznEEzkMMYwdae6Ztmb9" data-name="Jade 4U">Jade 4U</a>. 1994's Voodoo-U added industrial elements to their sound and became a band-oriented group.
Their third effort, 1997's Our Little Secret, spawned the singles "Rubber Doll" and "Pussy" and became the band's first entry on the Billboard 200. The B-side compilation Heaven Is an Orgasm followed in 1998. The next year, they issued a remix compilation; <a href="spotify:album:49Q7bv9LxWebn0cNzIcVS0" data-name="Expand Your Head">Expand Your Head</a> featuring "<a href="spotify:track:1RRfFrdeupfynFTbOu4A5t" data-name="Am I Sexy?">Am I Sexy?</a>" from Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Farstucker followed in early 2001.
The group went on hiatus until 2011's <a href="spotify:album:3xkAy2YIF4LQf3GCyiJqGf" data-name="Little Mighty Rabbit">Little Mighty Rabbit</a> EP, their first set of new material in a decade. Their fifth album, <a href="spotify:album:7miaCIzTzmsBVPFVwkyHno" data-name="Deep Chills">Deep Chills</a> featuring an entirely revamped lineup and guest vocalists like adult actress Alana Evans and television personality Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures. Following the 2016's greatest hits compilation, <a href="spotify:album:7I0K2PBrgUiCTd2H13tSFK" data-name="Smoking Hot">Smoking Hot</a>, Khan and the group began a crowdfunding campaign for their sixth full-length album, 2018's <a href="spotify:album:1VFSSNN5u5BCjkxcADajoZ" data-name="Pretty in Kink">Pretty in Kink</a>. It was announced in 2025 that ex-Butcher Babies vocalist Carla Harvey is the new Acid Queen and will be recording and touring with the band in 2025.
