Michael Weston King hails from the English coastal town of Southport, 20 miles north of Liverpool, though it could be said he is a victim of geography. He is the very embodiment of the modern day troubadour.
His live album Crawling Through The USA, recorded during a 3 American month solo tour, perfectly showcases the man alone with just his guitar and songs for company, while his 2010 protest album I Didn't Raise My Boy To Be A Soldier, met with huge critical acclaim, and led to invitations to tour China, appear at political events around the globe, and to curate a fund raising album for The Morning Star newspaper
The past few years have also seen him join forces with the singer songwriter, also his wife, Lou Dalgleish, to form the much lauded My Darling Clementine. Together they shock up the world of country and Americana in 2013 with their stunning debut album How Do You Plead?
Since then they have continued to push the boundaries of country music, with their 2017 album Still Testifying, being called a 'country soul classic’.
Their new album, Country Darkness, sees them collaborating with Steve Nieve reworking the country songs of Elvis Costello for duet
Michael has collaborated in the studio with Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, Kinky Friedman, Graham Parker, his much-missed friend Jackie Leven, and the late, great Townes van Zandt (who cut Michael's song Riding The Range)
