Michel Banabila

Michel Banabila, born 1961, is a Dutch sound artist, composer and producer. Banabila releases music since 1983 and has produced musical scores for numerous films, documentaries, theatre plays and choreographies. His work varies from minimal loop-based electronica, fourth world, and neo-classical pieces, to drones, experimental electronica, ambient, and tape music. Banabila performed live mid 80&#39;s in <a href="spotify:artist:6JAlWArj4UpceyEhuyMO2d" data-name="Chi">Chi</a> and early 90&#39;s in <a href="spotify:artist:2G4EVmjZO2QCHVpYEDpEPp" data-name="East Meets West">East Meets West</a>. He released albums with <a href="spotify:artist:6zsW0EKgff0aT51kXTJKAn" data-name="Bahia El Idrissi">Bahia El Idrissi</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4Tzunwe7m9sBMSsmEV49Qo" data-name="Machinefabriek">Machinefabriek</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:070yi6WuUG5HhHDPNdHro9" data-name="Oene van Geel">Oene van Geel</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5fnXjhmTrnKmXbPDnvTUkm" data-name="Pierre Bastien">Pierre Bastien</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4hZXxZhosuN3oWon3ZRzni" data-name="Robin Rimbaud">Robin Rimbaud</a>, among others. Banabila joined <a href="spotify:artist:58nPlJ5CNYu0nGLOuE1Uuk" data-name="Holger Czukay">Holger Czukay</a>&#39;s Linear City on &#39;10 Steps To Heaven&#39; in 2001 . In 2003 he received an Edison Award for his album <a href="spotify:album:6CiR9VgNhGocrkLrQz6AIj" data-name="VoizNoiz 3: Urban Jazz Scapes">VoizNoiz 3: Urban Jazz Scapes</a> with <a href="spotify:artist:0GJnVOotvnAmZvUYL8Kpmx" data-name="Eric Vloeimans">Eric Vloeimans</a>. In 2013 his track <a href="spotify:track:2b5rASJ7baSw5pGx9MRxh5" data-name="E.T.">E.T.</a> was featured in <a href="spotify:artist:3Dw9w3jnmr58ocgxiwITcq" data-name="Rone">Rone</a> &#39;s Boarding Pass mix (TSUGI 66). <a href="spotify:artist:6KqcjBp8Xap7vzjg3IQPtk" data-name="Gaspar Claus">Gaspar Claus</a> recorded a cello version of the same track for his album <a href="spotify:album:3gljD9nf9Ln8RMU6P3HY9U" data-name="Tancade">Tancade</a>. In 2017 Banabila &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:0ebjSec5WcmJE7r09zDEE1" data-name="Maarten Vos">Maarten Vos</a> toured the Netherlands with <a href="spotify:album:2sDt19987Hk5XvayRK9qHU" data-name="Home - Conny Janssen Danst">Home - Conny Janssen Danst</a>, a critically acclaimed dance performance.
