Houston vocalist Mikki Bleu has been performing since 12, when he sang with school bands. He recorded the single "Bedrock" locally in 1982, and the song made enough impact for Bleu to eventually tour with such groups as the Gap Band, the Bar-Kays, and Con Funk Shun. He joined Club Nouveau in 1986 and toured with them briefly, but never recorded as a group member. Bleu was on the Elektra roster briefly in 1985, but did little and joined EMI in 1989. The LP I Promise generated no action on the Urban Contemporary or R&B front. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi
