Mindia is an artist who sings and plays the cello simultaneously. A songwriter who evokes themes of fleeting romance and rebellious freedom in a vintage California setting. She makes music that paints moody pictures with great cinematic influences, blending classic orchestra arrangements with intricate sound design, bringing a new kind of synth pop sentimentality. Her new EP Dusty Blue V.01, is a concept album that tells the stories of a love entanglement from start to finish.
Born into a classical music family in Chengdu, China, and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. Mindia started classical piano education at the age of 3, and cello education at the age of 6. She attended Berklee College of Music, where she studied composition as well as cello performance. In Boston, she appeared on the main stage of Outside the Box Music Festival, New England Indonesian Festival, and the Berklee Performance Center. MINDIA is currently based in Los Angeles, where she has performed at the Mint, Bar20, Federal Bar, The Study, and as a speaker of TEDxManhattan Beach.
