FREE PALESTINE.
Mint are a loud and energetic cocktail made from parts of Iggy Pop and The Hives. Hailing from Grimsby Town, Mint can be described as the erratic and gut-busting Rock'n'Roll that your father smokes cigars to. Championed by Radio 1, Kerrang!, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, BBC Introducing, Channel 4 and ITV This Morning.
Fronted by Zaki Rashid who is of Palestinian heritage, Mint has set out to release ‘River to the Sea’ as a commentary on his Grandparents experience of the “Nakba” (which translates to “catastrophe”). The Nakba is a stapled part of Palestinian history after an estimated 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly removed from their homes and villages. Zak and his family in Palestine have been touching base more than usual since October ‘23 and have been brainstorming ways to raise funds and awareness for the struggling people of Gaza.
"Mint are the drunken plan, that actually happened" - Huw Stephens, Radio 1
“Energetic, Exciting and Huge” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
"Massive band" - Gordon Smart, Radio X
"My new favourite find!" - Alan Raw, BBC Introducing
