Formed in a basement in 2019 in Tupelo, Modern Bodies blends homegrown psychedelia, crafting murky pop songs with space infused noise rock with fuzzy kaleidoscopic explosions.
The group initially formed as a trio consisting of Matthew Pugh on guitar and synths, Preston George on guitar and vocals, and Nathan Nabors on drums, eventually bringing in drummer Trey Mccarter and bassist Jesse Sutton.
The band released a number of home-recorded psychedelic pop singles on their own label Gun Club, a few of which ended up on various online compilations and cover records. The band’s first EP released in 2024 on Earth Libraries.
