Aka Stroe One, is a MC, producer, and graffiti artist hailing from the CrenshawDistrict of Los Angeles. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, he was inspired by the energy andcreativity of hip-hop, and began pursuing his passion for graffiti at a young age and faced many challenges in his life. He struggled with addiction andwas in and out of the LA jail system. However, while serving time in prison, he discovered the program Narcotics Anonymous, which helped him turn his life around. He has been clean and sober for over a decade and now works as a case worker in Skid Row DTLA.
Monstroe has also established himself as a skilled graffitiartist. Monstroe draws inspiration for his music from his own struggles, as well as his environment and thehip-hop culture that he loves. His sound is influenced by legends such as Kool G Rap, Ice Cube, Rakim,and MF Doom. His goal with his music is to establish a strong audience and keep hip-hop culture alive.With his unique blend of talents and experiences, Monstroe is making waves in the hip-hop community.His canvases have been featured in the Apex Art and Cultural Center in Everett Seattle, and he is featuredin the award-winning documentary "Prophets, Teachers and Kings," which documents the graffiti artscene in Los Angeles. Monstroe's passion for hip-hop and his dedication to his craft make him a force tobe reckoned with in the industry.
