During a lonely, locked-down winter, George Appleton turned his tiny apartment into a makeshift studio in order to keep himself sane. Having just come out of a 5 year relationship to living alone, George needed something to occupy his mind. This resulted in an EP that never saw the light of day, besides the debut single ‘Beneath the Moon’. Beneath the Moon was released without intention, and soon was picked up by Spotify editorial playlists, blogs, and YouTube channels. In January 2022 he moved to Bologna, a small, bohemian town in the north of Italy. Here George enrolled in school to learn Italian, and once again found himself living alone, somewhat isolated from the rest of the world. Beautiful sun soaked days, and long quiet nights alone in this foreign city filtered into the feeling of his debut EP «Welcome to the Moonlight Disco», which was released on 777 Music in 2023. The EP is as sugar-pop as it is heartbreaking, and has been described as ‘music for Twin Peaks’.
