Mortale is the artist alias of Danish multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Martin Havstein Eriksen.

With a lifelong dedication to music, starting as a child curiously playing around with the piano of his jazz pianist dad (Bent Eriksen), as well as the family guitar when his fingers grew long enough to reach around the fretboard, and continuing with a bass player / music producer degree from The Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in his twenties, he has in recent years explored the world of balearic chill together with DJ and producer Mike Salta in a long and fruitful collaboration known as Salta/Mortale.

Salta/Mortale's music, primarily composed and performed by Mortale, is an example of what happens when you fuse the stylistic savvy of a seasoned DJ with the musical creativity of a skilled multi-instrumentalist, when the DJ's knowledge of genres meets the musician/composer's guitar and keyboard chord progressions, basslines, melodic lines, solos, and orchestral arrangements, producing beautiful and exciting balearic music together.

Always playfully circling around funk / R&B / jazz harmony and melodies, Mortale is influenced by such giants as Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Toots Thielemans, and Pat Metheny, to name only a few.
