Formed in Amsterdam in the summer of 2017, Mountain Eye has taken the alternative metal sound and made it their own. The band uses the various musical backgrounds of its members to create a unique sound with alternative metal at its core. Unexpected influences like folk, ambient and electronic genres make sure that no song sounds the same. The group has shared the stage with bands like Soulfly, STARSET, WARGASM (UK), Megaherz and InVisions.
Their debut album Roads Uncharted was released in January 2019. Roads Uncharted was received positively by the metal community as online listeners streamed the album over 1 million times in the first 3 years. In 2021 the band released the singles Watershed & Synopsis, which was featured on the Spotify official playlist New Blood and Alternative Metal.
In late 2021 Mountain Eye released the singles My Last Winter Trail and IME, which was featured on the official Spotify playlist Rauwe Kost. In July 2022, the band released the single Event Horizon, which ended up on playlists like All New Metal, New Music Friday NL and Pop-Punk Classics by Loudwire.
On 9 September 2022, the second album First We Become Ashes was released by Mountain Eye. The single 9 Knives ended up on the All New Metal playlist, and the album got a lot of great response from both fans and reviewers.
