Before MRS M the Mongolian Hip Hop landscape was completely male-dominated – but with a rich history. After the break-up of the Soviet Union there was a political void, and nobody knew what was happening in the ‘New Mongolia’. Hip Hop was fringe, but MC’s started talking about what was really going on. Just like the West, it took rappers to tell the people what time it was. Ever since then – the early 90’s – Hip Hop has become like folk music in the capital Ulaan Bataar.
Since her breakout year of 2017, MRS M has ruled over Mongolia’s vibrant Hip Hop and RnB market, taking the industry by storm with her viral hit ‘Bang’ (1.2 Million YouTube views and counting). Her first English language single ‘Tasty’ dropped in 2019 and is closing in on 3 million YouTube views – this caught the attention of New York Hip Hop hitmaker Harry Fraud (French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Benny the Butcher, etc.). Their first collaboration was his remix of her single ‘Sugar Daddy’ and with 2 more original tracks ready to go in 2021, plus her hugely successful collaborations with her musical partner in crime GINJIN, MRS M is set to infiltrate international markets rhyming in English and Mongolian.
