Mute Balloon was formed in 2015 in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania by guitarist Beau Mowery, bassist/vocalist Jerry Ketterer, and drummer/vocalist Quinn Haak.
They recorded their debut album in just one week in August of 2023, entitled Goin' Down Dead, with Jerry Ketterer writing seven of the ten tracks, the other three by Beau Mowery.
As their songwriting load shifted to a more even split between band members and including Quinn Haak into a more collaborative approach, their style honed into more straightfoward hard rock with a sound even more their own. This led the band to utilize a more thorough approach as they recorded their sophomore effort entilied Space, Time, & War over a six month period throughout the first half of 2024.
The name Mute Balloon was coined by drummer Quinn Haak on the bands first rehearsal when the members were in the fifth grade.
