With his unique voice, his dark eyes and his golden earring, it’s like Naël Kaced materialized from the pages of a fairy tale. As a child, he quickly became obsessed with Oscar Wilde, ancient Greek myths, and studies of sacred texts. At twelve, he was writing fantasy novels and delved into filmmaking. His musical journey began when he stumbled upon CDs of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and some Gospel songs. It was during a jam session in Paris that Naël was asked to sing, and had a revelation: "I've always sung in my bathroom. I never thought I could do it in front of a crowd. That night I found myself » recounts Naël Kaced, adding, « I knew I could overcome my disability ».
Because what sets Naël Kaced apart is that he has been deaf since birth, with one ear submerged in silence and the other intermittently touched by distant echoes. It’s only when he was fitted with a prosthesis specially adapted to the stage that Naël became a singer like any other, if not better. As if his ability to instinctively grasp the pulse of the music allowed him to outline its contours more precisely.
