Twinight Records swan song was a magnificent single by Gary, Indiana’s Nate Evans. A steady performer who opened for every major act to come through Magic City, Evans had met Syl Johnson as a promoter for the Zodiac Club. He didn't have many originals, but his ballad, the show stopping "Pardon My Innocent Heart," begged to be committed to wax. Syl needed another song for the flipside, and warily gave him the Randle-penned “Main Squeeze,” (though he would later recycle the instrumental track as “All I Need Is Someone Like You”). Accompanied by the Pieces Of Peace and background vocals by the Kitty Haywood Singers, the two songs are the perfect close to Twinight’s five-year run.
