NGC (New General Catalogue) was formed in South London out of a friendship between the duo FantasyFile and TsarJoe. After years of travel, friendship and working together on other projects, the duo decided to form the group and a creative label with a vision too expanding on their musical processes. Thus creating a musical and artistic world that lends itself to organic emotive music and visuals. The group relies heavily on live room recordings processed and edited digitally and manually. Raised in South London but hailing from Nigerian, Jamaican and Saint Lucian backgrounds the duo draw influences in their music from their cultural upbringings, travels and lived experiences across the world. This ultimately influenced their idiosyncratic musical style, which is both introspective and wide ranging but at its core based in an alternative organic and electronic sound that fuses elliptical songwriting and unconventional production techniques.
