Nia Pearl

Peleka Lwana known professionally as Nia Pearl, is a South African singer and songwriter. She gained popularity for her collaborations with South African Amapiano producers such as DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. Nia Pearl was born and raised in Mthatha, Eastern Cape where she grew up in a family of six sisters and was raised by a father in a close-knit family. Her love for music started when she was in primary school and she got inspired by her sisters to start writing her own songs. She says, “I found that I had a special attachment to music, felt like I belonged, gave me a sense of pride” In high school, Nia was part of the school choir and talent competitions and from there made sure she natured her talent.

After high school, Nia Pearl went on to study contemporary music at Damelin University and completed her studies in 2013. After completing her studies, she began carving her path into music industry. She has recorded with the likes of Mobi Dixon, “Ten Steps forward”, Tyler ICU, Major League “ iMali”, Mas Musiq “Wami”, Dj Stokie 'Wena" and many more. Her feature with Kabza De Small "Nia Lo" has over 3,7 million views on YouTube. Nia Pearl continues to prove to be one of the greatest singers of our time.
