The music of composer and pianist Nicolas Worms is a space where contradictory space-time continua converge; their dissonance is both structure and wound. He uses the concept of ‘music-fiction’ to describe his works, such as the music theatre piece L’Île fantôme (2023) and the series FLOT (2024), released on Alpha Classics and first performed in concert with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.
He also composes works in traditional forms: concertos, ballets, symphonic poems and chamber music; and
very regularly composes soundtracks for films, radio dramas, dance performances, installations and live
performances.
His music has been performed by leading ensembles such as the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Debussy Quartet and the Accentus choir in venues such as the Palais Garnier, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the
Opéra National du Rhin.
His career spans the worlds of classical and contemporary music and the French and international
pop, rock, experimental and electronic scenes: he was a long-standing member of the group Moonsters,
co-founded with Arthur Fu Bandini, and has collaborated as a producer, arranger and performer on stage and
recording projects with artists as diverse as Jean Rondeau, Mocke, UTO, Tahiti Boy, Eden Tinto Collins, Low
Jack, Hélène Escriva and Sonia Wieder-Atherton.
