Dutch singer and songwriter Nina June creates cinematic pop songs that explore human connection. With her contralto voice, she blends timeless melodies, intimate lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes.
Her most recent album Meet Me on the Edge of Our Ruin delves into themes of love lost and the fragile bond between humanity and nature. It followed her album Bon Voyage and two EP's, whose songs have been streamed over 54 million times.
Nina has performed from Amsterdam to New York and Berlin to Milan. She toured with SYML before her first German headline tour in 2022. Her music has featured in international films, TV and commercials. In 2024 she released a collaborative EP with <a href="spotify:artist:6vUNwmljZAcn7tNtUoxG45" data-name="Old Sea Brigade">Old Sea Brigade</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7FxEy78P0oIVEVxdaL9npy" data-name="Emily James">Emily James</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1I7oHjCjMrMUz66v67yJJu" data-name="Joshua Hyslop">Joshua Hyslop</a>.
In 2024–25 Nina worked with producer Marcel Tegelaar (<a href="spotify:artist:33KABng8GO42ojFJVcABxQ" data-name="Eefje de Visser">Eefje de Visser</a>) and pianist/arranger <a href="spotify:artist:7HQO1jUh000BYg1FEeV6Wa" data-name="DeLange">DeLange</a> on new music, recording a 12-piece string orchestra in London, conducted by Sally Herbert (<a href="spotify:artist:3Bd1cgCjtCI32PYvDC3ynO" data-name="London Grammar">London Grammar</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1moxjboGR7GNWYIMWsRjgG" data-name="Florence + The Machine">Florence + The Machine</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2RP4pPHTXlQpDnO9LvR7Yt" data-name="Lianne La Havas">Lianne La Havas</a>). The first single, “The Lighthouse (Particles),” will be out on October 3rd, 2025.
Raised in a Dutch seaside town, Nina grew up surrounded by music: her mother introduced her to <a href="spotify:artist:7oPgCQqMMXEXrNau5vxYZP" data-name="Tracy Chapman">Tracy Chapman</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6fNmOWQzfOVyHLQ2UqUQew" data-name="Eva Cassidy">Eva Cassidy</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5MspMQqdVbdwP6ax3GXqum" data-name="Annie Lennox">Annie Lennox</a>, while her father played <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2" data-name="The Beatles">The Beatles</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1CYsQCypByMVgnv17qsSbQ" data-name="Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young">Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young</a>. At 17, she left home to study at the Rock Academy.
