Nogymx

Jimmy Dunne, known as Nogymx, is an Irish-born artist/producer based in South Korea. Renowned for his mix of traditional sounds from his adopted home, old-school boom bap, and ethereal soundscapes, Nogymx has crafted a unique space for himself in the instrumental hip hop scene.

Growing up as a self-described hip-hop head, Jimmy drew early inspiration from legendary producers such as <a href="spotify:artist:6GEykX11lQqp92UVOQQCC7" data-name="DJ Premier">DJ Premier</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4s8ZGMVf3OiPktSP4ulpqU" data-name="9th Wonder">9th Wonder</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0IVcLMMbm05VIjnzPkGCyp" data-name="J Dilla">J Dilla</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:5K4W6rqBFWDnAN6FQUkS6x" data-name="Kanye West">Kanye West</a> before discovering the more electronic-based sounds of <a href="spotify:artist:6HCnsY0Rxi3cg53xreoAIm" data-name="Emancipator">Emancipator</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4dktzc5hWsQPqmovObGZIG" data-name="Tor">Tor</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6y80I9YZi4DOpbaSUlL725" data-name="Shlohmo">Shlohmo</a>. As his sound grew so did his inspirations with <a href="spotify:artist:3Rq3YOF9YG9YfCWD4D56RZ" data-name="Nujabes">Nujabes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6AE5XsUcbWE2XrQccVVJyd" data-name="Uyama Hiroto">Uyama Hiroto</a>, &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:5LrXI2SwrD9P30B6CqOjNV" data-name="Marcus D">Marcus D</a>, playing a huge role in shaping the distinct tone of his current work. Described by Stereofox as “floating in a cross-genre sweet-spot that splits the difference between <a href="spotify:artist:0cmWgDlu9CwTgxPhf403hb" data-name="Bonobo">Bonobo</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0GgkfnO3Bu2CFn65ZH31TF" data-name="Freddie Joachim">Freddie Joachim</a>” his music has landed the Irish artist on over 200,000 user playlists with over 120 million streams across all streaming platforms

Over the last 10 the South Korea-based producer has worked with some of the biggest labels such as <a href="spotify:artist:1eDIWVJt7ZWKsrXw5WVNsN" data-name="Lofi Girl">Lofi Girl</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4MtoPS2GV2hUxacTHz9J6p" data-name="Hip Dozer">Hip Dozer</a>, and artists in the scene including <a href="spotify:artist:6N4HlHINMvoTyAL0yhBUCk" data-name="Saib">Saib</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5LXHT7v9uYGrsyEnL9q9K8" data-name="Kalaido">Kalaido</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3yu4VilcxpQ6h35vRcemBp" data-name="Tenno">Tenno</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0wcen0V8FgQu6xYupnZMbB" data-name="softy">softy</a>, and many more. He was also invited to create an official remix for the launch of Ubisoft&#39;s Assassin&#39;s Creed Shadows - <a href="spotify:track:58MUpRlKW6mBYOLLl0GpsL" data-name="The Fujibayashi Legacy - Nogymx Remix">The Fujibayashi Legacy - Nogymx Remix</a> - in March 2025, further cementing his status as a key figure in the lo-fi and chillhop community.
