Noiseshaper is a production duo from Vienna who found their creative stride after moving to Berlin. Drawing on their roots in reggae and dub, Axel Hirn and Florian Fleischmann fused these influences with Berlin’s vibrant electronic scene.
Their innovative sound caught the attention of UK label Different Drummer, founded by Rockers Hi-Fi, leading to the release of their debut album Prelaunch Sequence in 2001—a genre-blending project that brought international recognition with tracks like The Only Redeemer. They followed with The Signal in 2003, featuring the soulful anthem All A Dem A Do, solidifying their place on the global stage.
Noiseshaper’s distinct sound brought collaborations with reggae legends like Dennis Bovell, remixes for Sly and Robbie, and features in Hollywood films like Disturbia. Their bold, politically charged album Rough Out There and Adrian Sherwood’s involvement on Real to Reel marked career highs.
By 2019, the release of King Size Dub Special: Noiseshaper and Paolo Baldini Dubfiles Meets Noiseshaper rekindled the band’s spark. Reuniting with their former bassist Clemens Handler, the three of them began producing fresh material, giving fans a glimpse of the new chapter with the EP Listen To The Sound in 2023.
2025 - Noiseshaper is back with new music, bringing their classic dub sound into a fresh comeback. Their return is all about those classic basslines and soulful reggae-inspired vocals.
