OLSSON released his debut album MILLIONS in 2017, where he gained attention from the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine, Noisey, Rough Trade, Zane Lowe (Beats radio) as well as a Swedish Grammy award. The Swedish producer and songwriter (who has previously worked with Charli XCX, Mabel, Seeb, Jacob Banks, Tiggs Da Author and more), followed that up with the sophomore album, Tropical Cologne, in 2019 and has now finished Sunny Hill, his third offering, scheduled for March 2024.
The album is co-written and co-produced with Patrik Berger (Bleachers, Robyn, Lana Del Rey) and Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow, Amason) and full of soulful features such as Jacob Banks, Mapei, Taken By Trees and newcomer FranksDaughter. It’s an autobiographical journey starting at Sunny Hill in Pristina, Kosovo where Christian lived for almost three years shortly after the war. The area was pretty much far from sunny, but the energy from the people and the experience itself was life-changing. The album effortlessly tells stories about a life filled with bad decisions and poor judgement, promoting optimism in a bleak world together with artists and musicians OLSSON worked closely together with throughout the years and is big fan of. All captured in a classic OLSSON soulful manner tributing classic crooners such as Marvin Gaye, SADE, Bryan Ferry, Marlena Shaw and the Beach Boys.
