OMD a Surinamese artist born in the Netherlands – is a versatile producer, entertainer, and writer with a deep-rooted passion for music. His journey began at an early age when he started playing the piano, eventually leading him to perform with bands and dive into music production during high school.
As a founding member of the former Dutch production collective Beatkidz, OMD collaborated with like-minded producers from his neighborhood and school. However, after stepping away from the group, he took a different path, immersing himself in the world of live music and supporting artists on stage. This experience sharpened his skills as a pianist, pushing him to grow through hands-on experience and constant challenges.
Over the years, OMD has performed with a variety of bands, including "Punky Donch, Kizzme, Roots Palmera, and Enarise", showcasing his adaptability across different musical landscapes. While he has explored genres like R&B and hip-hop, his heart beats strongest for Caribbean music. The rhythms of konpa, soca, zouk, and merengue never fail to move him, and his productions reflect his deep connection to these styles.
Collaboration fuels OMD’s creative energy, as he thrives on working with diverse artists and musicians to push musical boundaries. His one guiding principle? He makes music for himself first. As long as his music resonates with him, he’ll keep creating—until the end of time.
