Born in Belgium on August 12 1997,
OT (Olivia Trappeniers) grew up in a very musical family where both parents played in a band. She started playing the guitar by watching and learning the songs of <a href="spotify:artist:5YGY8feqx7naU7z4HrwZM6" data-name="Miley Cyrus">Miley Cyrus</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6aZyMrc4doVtZyKNilOmwu" data-name="Colbie Caillat">Colbie Caillat</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:06HL4z0CvFAxyc27GXpf02" data-name="Taylor Swift">Taylor Swift</a> on Youtube.
She also took some pianolessons and at the age of 12 she sang in front of alive audience in church for the first time.
As a teenager she watched TV shows like The Voice, X-factor, Idols and was dreaming about being on a show like that, so she decided to participate in The Voice herself at the age of 16. She went straight to the liveshows by performing <a href="spotify:track:580t2NTEMOuCHV1sN3uhyD" data-name="Blank Space">Blank Space</a> by <a href="spotify:artist:06HL4z0CvFAxyc27GXpf02" data-name="Taylor Swift">Taylor Swift</a> where she stood out with her pure voice.
Even though she didn’t make it to the finals, she started working on her own career as an artist. Inspired by the music of <a href="spotify:artist:5pKCCKE2ajJHZ9KAiaK11H" data-name="Rihanna">Rihanna</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:26VFTg2z8YR0cCuwLzESi2" data-name="Halsey">Halsey</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3mIj9lX2MWuHmhNCA7LSCW" data-name="The 1975">The 1975</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3AVfmawzu83sp94QW7CEGm" data-name="Astrid S">Astrid S</a>, she’s now working on her own songs.
Spending more time in the studio then in school, collaborating with DJ’s and in the meantime recording some acoustic covers, she’s releasing the first one There for you by <a href="spotify:artist:60d24wfXkVzDSfLS6hyCjZ" data-name="Martin Garrix">Martin Garrix</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3WGpXCj9YhhfX11TToZcXP" data-name="Troye Sivan">Troye Sivan</a>. It’s driven by only piano and her airy unique voice and it’s that combination that somehow could remind you of <a href="spotify:artist:2WX2uTcsvV5OnS0inACecP" data-name="Birdy">Birdy</a>.
After winning the radio contest MNM Rising Star, DJ and hitmaker <a href="spotify:artist:77ehFS1P2bU6Bfcs1qu6Jd" data-name="Regi">Regi</a> sended her a track were she co-wrote the lyrics and melodie for . “<a href="spotify:album:0flg0962BYA536Dr29nCvg" data-name="You Have A Heart">You Have A Heart</a>” reached #3 in the Belgian Charts and golden status.
