Overdrive Orchestra

Progedelic hard rock quintet Overdrive Orchestra is an orchestration of sound, soul, and energy. Their vibe has been described as gritty, natural and hypnotic. Frontman <a href="spotify:artist:1rpZY0x4nsqnYKqVYKSR8p" data-name="Chris Cranick">Chris Cranick</a>&#39;s lyrical themes touch on peace, love, spirituality, and enlightenment while also expressing communal frustrations with politics, taboos, and the human condition. Influenced equally by classic rock mainstays like <a href="spotify:artist:36QJpDe2go2KgaRleHCDTp" data-name="Led Zeppelin">Led Zeppelin</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0k17h0D3J5VfsdmQ1iZtE9" data-name="Pink Floyd">Pink Floyd</a> to modern cult favorites such as <a href="spotify:artist:4pejUc4iciQfgdX6OKulQn" data-name="Queens of the Stone Age">Queens of the Stone Age</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2yEwvVSSSUkcLeSTNyHKh8" data-name="TOOL">TOOL</a>, the band prides itself on their intuitive song writing sensibility and dynamic sonic textures.

Founded in 2011, Overdrive Orchestra wasted no time conjuring their special blend of heavy blues rock and psychedelia. OO released two independent efforts-- <a href="spotify:album:30gKAWA0TTWOVknwiFMutu" data-name="407">407</a> (2012) and <a href="spotify:album:2Ie3L0yOVEZeorMMhGi9nq" data-name="Heading East">Heading East</a> (2013) before signing with indie label White Elephant Records. With White Elephant, the band released their first <a href="spotify:album:0mK7VHgawFpIfvl5E2Hex9" data-name="LIVE">LIVE</a> album (2019) and their third studio record <a href="spotify:album:0jZEqhble3z5pJr66qPbos" data-name="Electric Mind">Electric Mind</a> (2020). O2 independently released their second live album, <a href="spotify:album:5ItYDUt4ABAKK7XKARQ7q9" data-name="Alive and Well">Alive and Well</a> in July 2021.

Overdrive Orchestra released their fourth studio record <a href="spotify:album:2Ktd6TY0YGPxanEPH9oLXs" data-name="Restless Star">Restless Star</a> in May 2024 to much acclaim. The album won Best Rock Album at the 2025 WYCE Jammie Awards. In their review of the album, Maximum Volume Music wrote, &#34;They are clever, they are classy, and way too good for the underground&#34; Additionally, Revue Magazine named the group Best Original Band four consecutive years (2020-2023).
