Owen Rua

One of Ireland’s up and coming young Singer/ Songwriter’s is Owen
Rua. He is from Tralee, Co. Kerry in the scenic South West of Ireland. He is a prolific
songwriter and performer of Pop music with influences of blues, folk and soul. He
has studied music in Saint Louis College in Rome, Italy and is a graduate of a 4-year
degree from the Cork School of music. He is from a musical family and always wanted to be a professional musician. Before the Coronavirus Owen regularly performed passionate acoustic performances around Ireland. Storytelling is an important part of the creative process for him. His influences include Sam Smith,
Hozier, Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand and many more. He is one to watch. Owen is in the process of recording his first EP and released his debut single ‘Do You Ever Think of Me?’ on July 24th 2020.
‘Do You Ever Think of Me?’ has received great reviews from Hot Press Magazine and interviews and plays on Soho Radio London, Spin South West, Indie star radio, the sound lab radio, Radio Kerry, Near Fm, Mid West Radio, KCLR96fm and more as well as being playlisted on RTE 2xm and Goldenplec.
