Growing up, his family had a pump organ in the living room, which he taught himself to play the opening phrase from Europe's famous "The Final Countdown" on at merely seven years old–all by himself. After a couple of years, it became clear to his parents that this new interest of his was here to stay, and so he received his first-ever synth for Christmas, a Casio CZ-1000 to be precise, which he still owns and plays to date. From then on Pär Hagström started recording sounds and melodies which is really where his main interests lie.
Hagström has produced, composed, and recorded music for over a decade now and, with a background in theatre, is often hired to compose theatre plays such as the ones he made with director Christoph Diem in Germany.
His love of music has taken him from the nature-rich Swedish small-town of Huskvarna, where he was born and raised, to many different corners of the world such as other parts of Europe and the U.S. He discovered the roaring world of synth sounds during the 80s at seven years old and has since been influenced by a variety of different music from 70's hard rock to death metal to gospel and electronic.
Hagström’s combined interests in the arts, literature, philosophy, film, and vintage analog gear render him an old soul, which can be heard in his gritty, organic, and human sound. Beauty doesn't equal perfection in his world, in fact, recordings with flaws are his favorite and are precisely what makes his music so distinct and loved.
