Nik Ammar is a London-born songwriter and composer best known for his role as guitarist and songwriter in the critically acclaimed band <a href="spotify:artist:1AzrlUnOS6dhH0iMV86ctS" data-name="Oi Va Voi">Oi Va Voi</a>
Nik first started music studying piano from an early age. Then aged eight he started learning classical guitar and then later switched to electric guitar.
After graduating from Oxford he travelled extensively throughout Central Asia and South America with his "Guitarrita". During this time he developed a strong interest and feel for ethnic music and instrumentation. Upon his return to the UK he studied Flamenco guitar and became guitarist/multi-instrumentalist / songwriter in Oi Va Voi.
Nik has performed for audiences all over the world including the Queen, Ralph Fiennes and Ewen MacGregor. As well as playing in such diverse places as Moscow, New York, Glastonbury, Istanbul, Paris, Ukraine, Amsterdam and Budapest, he has worked with many respected musicians including <a href="spotify:artist:5zzrJD2jXrE9dZ1AklRFcL" data-name="KT Tunstall">KT Tunstall</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:5MspMQqdVbdwP6ax3GXqum" data-name="Annie Lennox">Annie Lennox</a> and legendary Algerian pianist <a href="spotify:artist:1EIxgxMnny1TEs9wAFMDYS" data-name="Maurice el Medioni">Maurice el Medioni</a>
After completing 4 albums with <a href="spotify:artist:1AzrlUnOS6dhH0iMV86ctS" data-name="Oi Va Voi">Oi Va Voi</a>, Nik moved into creating original music and songs for TV and Film, scoring a wide range of TV shows and films from black comedy feature film Dirty Weekend through to trailers for Game Of Thrones and Maleficent 2. His songs have appeared in the soundtracks for shows such as Elementary, Reign, Shameless, Sons Of Anarchy and Stumptown as well as for the recent video game <a href="spotify:playlist:0Mcl4yLTMFhevcN3AFe50F" data-name="The Quarry (Complete Soundtrack)">The Quarry (Complete Soundtrack)</a>
